Charities

This page is a growing, non-comprehensive, list of charities that the GWPNC Board and our community members support. Contact us to add your favorite charity to this list. We believe in giving back to our community in as many ways as we can. The charity you are involved with might be a good fit for another one of our members so we are happy to provide a place to share resources amongst our community.

  • Comfort Zone Camp – A non-profit that provides grief programming to children 7-17 that have lost a parent or sibling. Grieving children see that they are not alone as every other child at the camp has experienced a similar loss; learn positive coping skills; do fun camp activities; share their stories of their loss – sometimes for the first time; and have the support of a big buddy volunteer all weekend to laugh, cry, and grow together. All programming is provided at no cost to camper families. If you would like more information about volunteering or enrolling a child, contact Lydia Ross.
  • Hope Reins – A is a Christian-based non-profit that serves kids in life crisis at a 38-acre ranch located in Raleigh using rescued horses. Services are free to eligible children 5-18. Helen Corley shared this organization with us.
